Scentsy MLM Review: Revenue Potential?

Categories:

This post is about my Scentsy MLM review and whether there is revenue potential with Scentsy MLM. Is Scentsy another typical multi-level marketing platform? It certainly is. The general process of Scentsy is to first find a host to form a party. Then you may gather product orders by having the host host them. This could result in big financial advantages if you keep doing it.

What is Scentsy?

What the heck is Scentsy? Colette Gunnell and Kara Egan are the two founders who established Scentsy in May 2004. Scentsy is based in Idaho and has members throughout the world. They use multi-level marketing to sell their products.

The statistics about this MLM program sound pretty impressive. On Forbes’ list of the Best Mid-Size Employers in the USA in 2018, it came in at number 35. Scentsy was ranked among the top 13 workplaces in the United States by Direct Selling News.

Some of the products that Scentsy produces are room deodorizers, all-purpose cleansers, fabric softeners, and some pet products.

Are their Products Priced Reasonably?

Some of the cleaning products Scentsy sells online.

Retail outlets do not carry Scentsy items. Consumers can only get them from Scentsy. You, as the representative, will have a slight advantage in sales because of this. The wax bars and warmers from Scentsy are exclusive items.

There are sixty-eight distinct smells available for the wax bars. Each package of wax bars costs $6.00 on average at retail. There are a total of eight break-apart small blocks or cubes in each container, and they are made of wax containing paraffin. A cube in a warmer can be lit and left to burn for a long time, maybe several hours, to fill the space with a pleasant fragrance.

There are many warmers available that utilize wax bars. Retail prices for them vary between $30 and $60. The Scentsy items would all be desirable to female consumers.

Customers may think that wax bars are reasonably priced, but the cost of the warmers could draw them away. These are more expensive purchases. They are not really needed. There are other goods out there that might be more reasonably priced, like cleaning and washing supplies. However, the primary benefit in this situation is that you cannot find these things in regular stores, which offers you an advantage.

The MLM Opportunity Process

First, you need to become a sponsor to take advantage of the Scentsy MLM opportunity. Once you have joined, had a sponsor, and bought your starter kit, you may begin selling your products and recruiting new members for this program.

Scentsy products can be sold in a few different ways. Hosting a party would be among the most typical. This puts the goods in front of prospective consumers so they can see for themselves how high-quality they are. These orders would generate commissions for you. Your host will be eligible for a free gift if you can generate $200 in orders.

What is the Scentsy membership cost?

There are a few costs involved with becoming a member of Scentsy. The starter kit for your business will cost you $99 per year. So you will need to buy a starter kit every year. You can select from a variety of kits, including warmers, cleaning supplies, waxes, washing aids, and testers for fragrances. And any merchandise you sell at your party can be used to purchase a Host-Exclusive Starter Kit. To cover any theft, vandalism to business property, or loss of inventory that is connected to your line of work, you might also need to purchase third-party insurance.

Can You Really Earn Money with Scentsy MLM?

There is potential for earning income with Scentsy MLM. There are a few methods you may use to help you earn an income.

You will have your own website to conduct your business on. It will cost you $10 per month after your first three free months.

You can make money by finding others to hold Scentsy parties and then getting a percentage on all product purchases. In addition, as a bonus for hosting the party, your host gets a free offer.

This is among the simplest methods for obtaining product orders. Simply ask someone to circulate a Scentsy basket at your place of employment, school, church, or any other organization. When the basket is sent back to you, allow customers to sample the products, collect orders, and then place them for sale.

Finally, there is the recruitment method. You may earn more income by creating a downline and recruiting other people. You will be the recruiter and manager for your downline, but you will also earn a percentage from the sales they generate.

All products are given the Personal Retail Volume label. Your commissions are determined by the monthly PRV you achieve. Using a peg rate unique to each nation, this point value is transformed into the local currency. Once you’ve sold 1,000 PRV points’ worth of goods, your commission rate will rise to 25% from the starting level of 20%. Each month on the 10th, consultants receive payment for the previous month’s sales using a Scentsy VISA payment card.

You must create 200 points or more in sales in at least one month during the course of a four-month period to continue to be an active consultant.

Pros of Becoming a Member:

Check out some positive reasons to join as a member of Scentsy MLM.

There is a product warranty. A limited lifetime guarantee is available on a few Scentsy goods. Scentsy Go Solid, Scentsy Diffusers, and Scentsy Go are all warranted to be defect-free. Scentsy will exchange the item for free if any flaws are discovered within 30 days of the purchase.

Scentsy products are all manufactured in Idaho. They are warehoused in Texas, Kentucky, Idaho, Mexico, Australia, and the Netherlands. So all their business is handled in the United States.

You may share your product information on social platforms like Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, and Twitter. Social platforms work really well for getting business, as long as you understand and adhere to their rules and guidelines.

There are Scentsy Consultants all over the world, including in Canada, Mexico, Australia, and a small number of European nations. So there are definitely opportunities to work as consultants outside of the United States.

The Cons of Becoming a Member:

As there are pros to doing business with Scentsy MLM, you will also have to be aware of the cons or disadvantages. Additionally, you ought to be totally aware in case any potential clients have questions about them.

To begin with, diethyl phthalate (DEP), which is known to be harmful to human growth and reproduction, is a component in the Scentsy bar wax fragrance. It is referred to as an endocrine disruptor and allergen. This substance is frequently found in plastics and perfumes.

On the Better Business Bureau web page, Scentsy has had a lot of positive reviews. However, at the time of this review, there were also a number of complaints.

You also have to pay your own expenses. There are expenses like gas, food, phone, and others to consider when running your business.

The ordering process speed can use some improvement. They have had customer complaints that they had to wait up to six weeks for their order. Scentsy typically takes ten days to complete and deliver product orders placed by consultants.

It is well known that Scentsy has bad customer service. Not just the consumer is affected by the poor customer service. Even consultants have experienced difficulties using the customer service support lines to resolve their issues. Sometimes they receive a warning not to contact customer care, or their calls will never be returned. Problems typically involve orders not being delivered or things not being shipped.

Is Scentsy a Scam to Do Business With?

I would say that Scentsy is not really a scam, but it is difficult to do business with and earn income from. People are usually happy with their products when they order and receive them. So Scentsy has had a long history of great success.

It does take a lot of energy and effort to get people to buy your products. You need to find a party host to run a party and introduce and demonstrate the products to people they know. Since it is a party, you will have to offer refreshments and snacks to the party members. And then you will have to put trust in these people to purchase the products to generate commission from them. It will take a lot of sales to even make a decent commission.

My Conclusion About Scentsy

Regarding MLMs, a particular aspect that individuals frequently overlook is the funds that they must first invest in order to earn a dime. You typically have to pay a membership fee and purchase a kit. Then there are your personal expenses, which are hidden costs. So how much is left over once your expenses are deducted, even if you do manage to earn some respectable commissions?
