Matilda Jane MLM Review - Jane Trunk Show

Founded in 2006 in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Matilda Jane specializes in selling clothing for women and girls, with a small amount of household goods thrown in for good measure. But buying a lovely garment or an oddball home appliance isn’t the only thing this company offers. Do you intend to work as a paid Matilda Jane marketer? Will you make financial gains and become financially independent by promoting this program? You possibly can. However, it can be very difficult and taxing. Find out more by reading my most recent Matilda Jane MLM review!

The Matilda Jane Process:

Distributors, or “trunk keepers,” are the foundation of Matilda Jane’s business strategy. Similar to the majority of multilevel marketing, sales are made through “shows.” By offering them a gift in exchange, you persuade them to throw a party. The customer receives their purchases from the business, and all transactions generated during the event are routed straight to Matilda Jane headquarters.

Easy enough, isn’t it? There’s a catch, though, so wait.

Who Is Jane?

A Matilda Jane show’s host is fondly referred to as a “Jane.” (Lovely branding, but don’t be fooled by the adorable name.) The show’s overall sales will determine whether Jane receives free or heavily discounted products. The tough part is that the event must bring in at least $300 in sales in order to qualify for a 50% discount on a single item. For one half-off sale, that’s a lot of dresses and leggings to sell!

Can You Profit From Matilda Jane?

It may be more difficult to turn a profit as a trunk keeper than it is to find a pair of socks that match in the morning. Similar apparel can be obtained online at sites like eBay or Amazon, typically for less money, so you’re not selling anything special.

In addition to being intense the competition is a real brick wall. Being unique as a trunk keeper is difficult because Matilda Jane’s products are easily found elsewhere.

Pros and Cons To Marketing With Matilda Jane

Like most ventures, Matilda Jane has its highs and lows. Let’s break it down:

Pros:

  • Earn a 20% commission on every product sold.
  • Products can be sold across the U.S. and Canada.
  • One-on-one support and complimentary training are provided.
  • A wide range of women’s and children’s clothing, household goods, and toys.

Cons:

  • You’ll need to purchase an initial kit for $300, which isn’t refundable.
  • Seasonal kit purchases are required whenever new clothing lines launch.
  • Advertising restrictions prevent you from running Facebook ads or creating your own promotional materials.
  • Monthly sales must hit $1,500 to remain active.
  • To quit, you’ll need to send an official letter via FedEx. (Yes, really!)
  • Even after quitting, you might face commission deductions due to customer returns or exchanges.
  • Earnings are purely commission-based, with no guaranteed income.

A balance between the advantages and disadvantages tilts the scales in favor of “move forward with caution.”

Is Matilda Jane Legitimate Or A Scam?

The Matilda Jane is a legitimate company, but there are some concerns about the multilevel marketing approach it uses. The problem is that you’re effectively working as an independent contractor earning commissions by selling someone else’s goods. Since there is no hourly compensation, your income is solely dependent on sales.

Before you’ve even made your first sale, you’re spending a lot of time and money on the upfront charges, which include everything from kits to party expenses. Oh, and don’t forget the urge to increase your income by hiring more people. Does that sound frustrating? That is the reality.

My Concluding Statements:

MLMs enjoy making bold claims like “The products sell themselves!” However, the reality is that neither the products nor your passion will sell themselves once the initial thrill wears off. Making money with Matilda Jane is possible but requires a lot of upfront expenses, constant work, and negotiating a competitive market.

Despite being a genuine business, Matilda Jane is not very appealing due to its obstacles to success. This opportunity isn’t for everyone because of the required minimum sales, the lack of refunds, and the difficult task of standing out.
